I Decided to go with the Uplift version. They had a deal where you can get that and a Steelcase Gesture chair in a bundle at the lowest price I’ve seen, $839. It’s basically impossible to find used Gesture’s because they’re only 3 years old. And the next cheapest Gesture was $870, with the rest being basically $1k. In total, it was about $1400 even for both the desk and the chair. Both have a 30 day free return policy. They even included a C-frame, which usually costs extra. So all in all, I saved about $40-$160, and got it all from one convenient place.

I really wanted a chair that would be sturdy and last, and it also has some of the lowest seat height of all. I’ve been pining over the Gesture for a while now. Expensive as heck, but worth it if you’re like me and actually take care of the stuff you own.

From what I’ve seen, the main differences is the Jarvis surface is a little smoother, the Jarvis is 1/4th inch thinner, and sits about 1 inch lower at its lowest. The Uplift is essentially the exact same price, the same motor, but that extra thickness really gives me a piece of mind for longevity and the ability to hold arm mounts without deforming. I do hear the Jarvis is just a bit more sturdy at higher elevations.

I don’t know if it’s a symptom of both tabletops, but I’ve seen people report bleaching from the sun in the Jarvis, so things you leave in one place a lot could end up creating dark spots where the light isn’t bleaching it evenly. I honestly wouldn’t mind this though. Perfect table tops are nice, but wear gives them character, and if you only have one nick, it’s going to bug you a lot more than if you’ve got a few dozen blemishes.

I love how the review of the floor mat really takes over here, and the desk becomes more of a footnote. This guy is *really* excited about it!

Is this a 60 inch or 48 inch version?
