What’s up Nerdgasm fans? Today we’re reviewing a new gaming headset from Sennheiser called the Gaming Series G4ME ZERO. As you would expect these earn the Sennheiser name by having an amazing sound and power handling and the microphone though a bit tricky at first proved to be one of the best noise cancelling microphones I have ever used. When you’re gaming it’s more important to hear clearly then anything and these achieve that goal perfectly. Also I was really surprised at how much these come to life when paired with a Mayflower Objective2 Headphone Amp. I would really suggest it as a good entry level headphone amp to mate with these to really get their potential if you don’t already have a sound card capable of pushing a high ohm headset.

Specifications
Closed back design featuring tailored leatherette double layered memory-foam ear pads for maximum acoustic seal to block outside noise
Modern, lightweight yet robust design featuring XXL ear cups incorporating Sennheiser’s model specific transducer technology delivering extreme sonic clarity and accuracy (150-ohm)
Crystal-clear conversations ensured with the professional quality noise-canceling microphone that automatically mutes when boom arm is raised
Foldable design featuring a volume control located on the right ear cup and braided fabric cable
Two year warranty

Q: The microphone sounded a little flat?
A: I found after the video if you turned the gain down on the camera a bit and put the microphone closer to your mouth it was a more natural sound, but the noise cancelling does take a little warmth away from the voice but to kill the background noise it’s freaking amazing!

Q: In order to get the most out of these headphones, would I need a good sound card and/or a headphone amplifier?
A: Yes. One recommended setup is the 720 dac from Cypher.

Q: How much bass do these produce? Will it rattle your head?
A: These have a good level of bass with fantastic clarity across the full spectrum, both high and low. For gaming, there isn’t another headset out there with better audio quality. I would suggest also getting a DAC/Amp or decent soundcard to compliment it to give you an even better experience…If however, you are…

Q: What’s the difference between this, and the PC 350 Special Edition? Thanks in advance.
A: It looks like the only difference is the color… The specs and features look identical.

can i use these without a amp untill i can afford one ?

Blakkheim says:

The con that you mentioned with the “moving your head changes the sound” I can’t completely agree with. You’d have to really move your head ALOT and FAST in order for the seal to be tampered with. I’ve had these headphones for over 2 years now. Best headset.

AngelEyes. says:

i have these headphones but my mic sounds so bad…

Hayabusa09 says:

OH MY GOD HE LOOKS SO UNHEALTHY

Dimas Triaji says:

Excuse me, does this headset have the heat problem? Because I’m the type that kind of easily sweats. Even though I have air conditioner in my room, if the leather is too tight or not allowing any air flows into it, it might be the reason why I sweats alot even though the air conditioner was cold enough.

JonnyBiz says:

Hey!
Specifically, does the microphone pickup background noise?
I have a beagle and I work from home. I need a headset that will not pick up her bark. Lol.

WTFSexyHeadphones says:

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me iwth something. With the mic on this headset, for me the mic is EXTREMELY quiet and I’m not sure why. I have the level at 100 and I need to boost the mic at least 20dB in order for people to hear me, but at that point the there is so much noise it sounds like crap. Any ideas what is causing that? Some mentioned it might need more power? I’m using it on PC and have it plugged into the tower jacks, just using the base sound card.

DJay_Shady says:

Wait so can you hear yourself on when you talk with them or? Kinda scared considering the noise canceling

iB4CHST1 says:

I think the bass sucks, is there any way to boost it, or will it change with a sound card?

sam him says:

just looked up the prices of the headset with the amp that you are using. Its about $450-500…do you REALLY need an amp for this particular headset?

Eu você E O ZUBUMAFU! says:

Do I need a power amp or I can just plug them in my PC?

DangItDallie says:

I own these and I have a lot of sound that leaks out from the headphone into the mic. My head/ears are too small so the cup is too big and has space at the bottom for it to escape. Really a shame because I love these headphones.
